The Stamps and Patches of Spaceflights Mercury Project - The programme began in November 1958 and NASA issued a contract to the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation on the 15th February 1958 for twelve single-crew spacecraft. Focus on Project Mercury - Some issues are particularly interesting in that they not only portray the relevant subject but raise other equally fascinating topics. Gemini Project - The Gemini Program was intended to be an intermediate step between Mercury and Apollo. The Gemini spacecraft carried two astronauts. A Year in Space - This is a day-by-day account of the odyssey of Cosmonauts Vladimir Titov and Musa Manarov, the first human beings to spend an entire year in earth orbit aboard the Soviet Mir space station.
