Wednesday May 11th and Thursday May 12th 1988

TitovAstrophysical experiments continued looking at the Supernova in the Large Magellanic Cloud.

Friday May 13th 1988

Progress 36 was launched at 00:30 GMT. It was placed in an initial orbit of 262 x 193 km with a period of 88.8 minutes and amongst the usual supplies was carrying equipment for the forthcoming Soviet—Bulgarian space flight.

Saturday May 14th 1988

Another rest day and preparations for the docking of Progress.

Sunday May 15th 1988

At 02:13 GMT Progress 36 docked with the Mir complex.

Monday May 16th 1988

The cosmonauts began unloading Progress.

Tuesday May 17th 1988

The cosmonauts did geophysical and astrophysical work. They observed the Cannis Major constellation, the Swan and Little Fox constellations looking for X-ray sources.

Wednesday May 18th 1988

Another milestone was reached today; the cosmonauts have spent 150 days in space and were congratulated by Mission Control. They repeated that time had passed very quickly.

Thursday May 19th 1988

Titov and Manarov continued to unload Progress and prepare equipment for the Soviet—Bulgarian flight (this flight had been brought forward to June 7th, 1988).

Friday May 20th 1988

The Soviet—Bulgarian crews gave a press conference in Moscow prior to leaving for the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Saturday May 21st 1988

Titov and Manarov have been in space 5 months today. Both are in good shape and have good appetites; Manarov has gained 3 kg and Titov has lost 2 kg.

Sunday May 22nd 1988

Weekend rest day.

Monday May 23rd and Tuesday May 24th 1988

The cosmonauts continued to unload Progress. They are also preparing the equipment for the Soviet-Bulgarian flight. Vladimir Titov said: “The programme will be very extensive and its schedule tight”.

Wednesday May 25th 1988

Mission Control has increased the amount of entertainment and sports programmes relayed to the cosmonauts at their own request.

Thursday May 26th 1988

The cosmonauts for the Soviet—Bulgarian crew left for the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Friday May 27th 1988

Unloading of Progress continued.

Saturday May 28th and Sunday May 29th 1988

Weekend—off.
